Why are my Windows Foggy?
An insulated window or door (referred to as IG, thermopane, double/triple pane, dual pane) contains two or more layers of glass together in a track or frame. The space between the glass layers is usually filled with dehydrated air or a special inert gas. The perimeter of the glass is sealed, preventing movement of outside air into the space. When the window seal fails or the glass is damaged, the gas escapes allowing moisture-laden air into the space. This causes fogging or clouding on the inside of the window. No amount of cleaning will restore visibility through the glass.
